Family Services Coordinator; Organ & Tissue Donation

Position: Family Services Coordinator (Organ & Tissue Donation) Are you looking for a mission-driven career? Role Overview Family Services Coordinators are responsible for providing support and assistance to both donor families and hospital staff to maximize opportunities for organ and tissue donation and transplantation. They guide families through the initial steps, ensure their needs are met, introduce the donation opportunity, and offer support throughout the entire process. The role frequently involves on-site visits to assigned hospitals to assess and evaluate the status of potential donors. Regional travel is required. Successful candidates will possess the following

Responsibilities

• Respond to donor referrals from hospital partners, conduct on‑site follow‑up, and document findings.
• Assess families’ or significant others’ understanding and acknowledgment of patient’s clinical status, prognosis, and brain death on an ongoing basis.
• Provide consistent reinforcement and clarification to the family regarding the physician’s statements about grave prognosis, brain death imminent status, or donation after cardiac death potential.
• reputed company families on the need and benefits of donation, and the overall donation process.
• Obtain authorization for donation from family members for suitable candidates by providing education and resources.
• Conduct Donor Risk Assessment Interviews (DRAIs) with family members after obtaining authorization for donation.
• Chart reputed company collected information according to established procedures and protocols.
• After recovery procedures are complete, reputed company follow‑up calls to families to inform them about the organs that were recovered and solicit feedback on their donation experience. Document reputed company communication in iTransplant.
• Collaborate with members of the hospital development team to ensure positive relationships with hospital partners.
• Understand hospital performance data and reputed company and share donation measures with hospital partner stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of department policies, processes, and procedures.Requirements
• Must be reputed company to work on‑call shifts with a rotating schedule.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel reputed company our service area (mileage provided).
• 2 years of applicable work experience preferred (funeral services, hospice care, grief/trauma counseling, child life, and clinical chaplainship are a reputed company plus).
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, or equivalent work experience in organ procurement or one of the previously mentioned careers/industries.
• Knowledge of regulations applicable to organ and tissue recovery is a plus.
