Our client, a renowned engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer with expertise in infrastructure projects to join their fully remote team. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US while leading significant public and private infrastructure developments. You will be responsible for the design, planning, and oversight of major civil engineering projects, including transportation, water resources, and site development. The ideal candidate will possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, and extensive experience managing complex, large-scale infrastructure projects. This is a pivotal role demanding strong technical leadership, client management skills, and a commitment to sustainable engineering practices. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of complex infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, drainage systems, and utility networks. Perform engineering calculations, site analysis, and feasibility studies. Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents. Ensure designs comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and codes. Manage project teams, including junior engineers, designers, and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship. Oversee the construction administration phase, including site inspections and problem-solving. Collaborate effectively with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders. Develop and manage project budgets and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering analyses. Stay current with the latest advancements in civil engineering technology and sustainable design practices. Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations. Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects. Proven experience managing large-scale transportation, water resources, or site development projects from concept to completion. Expertise in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, SWMM). Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, structural analysis, and environmental regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively in a remote work environment. Experience with public sector projects and working with government agencies is highly desirable. Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design principles. Strong client relationship management skills.
