Student Researcher, Statistical Computing

Statistical Computing in the Collyer Lab of Evolutionary Morphometrics What you will be doing: The student researcher will conduct simulation experiments to generate statistical power and effect-size consistency profiles for many combinations of signal strength in simulated data, multivariate statistics, data-reduction methods, and amount of data reduction. These profiles will allow statistical power and consistency of various statistics to be evaluated over many different data analysis scenarios, which would be valuable for various scientific disciplines. Learning outcomes: The student will develop skill coding in R, experience in statistical research, experience in statistical computing, and experience in multivariate statistics. Skills required: Essential skills include previous experience with r programming, and a sound foundation in mathematics and statistics (at least five courses in math or statistics). All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year. Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
