Social Media & Video Marketer

This is a part time remote, contract role for a content wizard who wants to work with a close indie team on an exciting project! Our whole thing has been about bringing out of the industry people together to punch up, so while experience is a plus, we’ll be looking more at the individual and what excites you about games. If you create great content already and are comfortable around short form video production, this is for you! This role is born from the reality I am now facing as the founder of the studio, one that tells me no matter how hard I try I can’t multiply myself to take it all on. Just like singer Jennifer Saunders, WE NEED A self-starter content-producing, social media-posting, Discord-wrangling HERO. We’ve already grown an audience on Youtube, Instagram, TikTok, X, and Bluesky, and we’re looking to bring in a new face and voice to communicate game updates to our followers. We need a new front person, because the last one finally admitted he can’t wear all these hats! Davinci resolve editing pro is a necessity, engrossed in the game dev industry is a plus, and a creative marketer is the cherry on the top we’re looking for. Responsibilities:

• Manage a growing Discord community proactively.
• Maintain a regular posting cycle for new and evergreen written and video content to our social media outlets on X, Instagram, and Bluesky.
• Produce 2 short form videos covering game progress each week to be cut and crossposted across our YT, TikTok, and Instagram.
• Collaborate with us in producing long form videos to fit our one a month goal for devlogs featured on our main channel.

Qualifications

• Content writing capable, proven example of managing or engaging across multiple social media platforms.
• A Discord pro who is not shy to take on a community management role and grow with us and our players.
• Previous experience is preferred, but we’re looking at everyone here! If no experience is held, we’re also considering self-proclaimed: content creators, Discord gurus, podcasters, or individuals who approach social media with a scientific mindset.
• Remote work within a team and embedded into the development cycle of our games. Preferred US time zone since we are a California based studio.
• Understanding game dev jargon is a MUST. Indie games have to be a core part of your professional intentions.
• English speaking, ability to take part in weekly sprints and track marketing tasks across a production board (Trello / Notion).

Non-Negotiables:

• Proficient video editor for shorts-form and standard videos (davinci preferred for cloud projects)
• A personality who will bask in the glorious light of the camera and microphone for devlog videos
• Must like cowboys (we are making a cowboy game)
