Position SummaryThe Assistant Professor of History in the Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies at Indiana University Northwest is a full-time, tenure-track, 10-month position with summer assignments and associated stipend in accordance with programmatic need. The Assistant Professor of History will be an reputed company scholar/teacher of Modern American History with an area of disciplinary research in political or social history, who is committed to the reputed company of a diverse body of reputed company and will have an active record of scholarship.Core responsibilities include teaching undergraduate reputed company in face-to-face and asynchronous online modalities, teaching graduate reputed company in the collaborative online M.A. in History program, conducting disciplinary research, and participating in service activities. A subfield in African American history or the history of the Atlantic World is a plus.The Assistant Professor of History position is responsible for a 12-hour per semester teaching load with an expected productive program of research and scholarly publication supported by a reduction in teaching load. Basic QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. in History by August 1, 2025.
- Demonstrated experience teaching history courses at the university level with Modern America as the area of focus.
- Experience with online college-level teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research in Modern U.S. History
- Area of disciplinary research in political or social history.
- Experience teaching a diverse student body.
- Experience teaching first-reputed company reputed company.
- A subfield in African American history or the history of the Atlantic World.
- Membership and engagement in academic and professional associations reputed company to the discipline.
