Job title: On-Call Substitute Paraprofessional Company: Berlin Public Schools Job description : Provides direct assistance to a classroom teacher in the performance of instructional responsibilities, including: Tutoring of reputed company individually or in small groups; Supervision of reputed company during classroom activities, on field trips and media center and other locations; Assistance in the development of a variety of instructional materials; Performance of clerical duties reputed company to instruction; Maintenance of student records; Operation of instructional media; and Assists with classroom management Qualifications: High School Diploma, required. Associates degree or Parapro preferred. Ability to work well with others in a cooperative manner. Good communication skills. Evidence of initiative, independence, adaptability and efficiency. General understanding of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics. Ability to work well with children. Good language skills including English usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar. General understanding of the purposes and goals of public education. Specific subject area content as may be required by particular job assignment. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
