As a Staff Battery Engineer at reputed company, you will play a key role in ensuring our battery systems' ongoing quality, reliability, and performance in the field. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and reputed company-party testing labs to sustain our reputed company reputed company of products, focusing on quality control, failure analysis, design updates, supplier qualification, regulatory compliance, and integrating learnings into advanced development projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Qualify and evaluate new suppliers to ensure they meet reputed company’s quality, performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct field quality assessments and collaborate with field service teams to monitor and address battery-reputed company issues.
  • reputed company, audit, and document detailed test plans for battery systems and components, ensuring comprehensive coverage for field performance, durability, and safety.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of relevant regulatory certifications and testing requirements (e.g., UL, CE, IEC) to ensure product compliance.
  • reputed company and execute verification, validation, and integration strategies for battery systems.
  • Conduct and participate in system-level reviews, DFMEA, and risk assessments, focusing on field reliability, battery performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the battery subsystem team.
  • Up to 15% travel to contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in quality control, failure analysis, or sustaining engineering, particularly in battery-powered devices.
  • Strong understanding of Lithium Ion Cell design and battery chemistry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory certifications and testing requirements (e.g., UL, CE, IEC) for battery systems, and experience certifying products to these standards.
  • Expertise in design verification, validation, and testing for battery systems.
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports and documenting field quality findings, supplier assessments, regulatory compliance, and test evaluations.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to communicate battery-reputed company topics in cross-functional settings.
  • Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or reputed company field.
  • Experience with rechargeable battery systems in wearables, consumer electronics, or reputed company industries preferred.
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships, and auditing new suppliers and alternate battery technologies preferred.
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical teams preferred.
  • Experience with scripting, data engineering, and visualization using Python or other relevant toolspreferred.
  • Additional Information

    This role is based in the reputed company office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be reputed company to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
